I had been putting R34 in it every couple of weeks for more than a year.  It finally died and I KNOW it is gonna be more than 1-200 so it's outta the question on getting it fixed.  I don't have the tools to do it myself and I don't know any one that does so.......

NOT good in your climate.  Here in the frozen north if mine goes now I can tough it out.....winter will be here before I know it, and then get it recharged in the spring.  What kind of truck?

The compressor was Designed to go 3 years ago. Have a friend who was a Ford mechanic for 25 years, Nothing on them is designed to last more than 10 years.

So far it's been a pretty good truck.  It has about 70,000 miles on it so 'light driving'.  The only thing I have had to replace is both of the window motors (other than normal maintainance stuff).

That explains it, they figure on an average of 20,000 miles per year.

Holy hell, doncha ever DRIVE the damn thing?  Your ac didn't crap out, it got bored and went looking for excitement!!  I have 132k on my 99 cadillac.
