Disabled. Retired from GM. We had another thread on this if anyone can find it.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Letter to Alexander Hamilton, Friday, May 02, 1783

I've been job hunting for just over 6 months. I lost my overtime when BO got nominated and lost my job when he got sworn in.
so basically I don't do anything.
Here's the thread Frank mentioned

Again (damnit) Tom has it it right. Re-runs are not a problem if its interesting. Me, unemployed teacher since May. Chalk me, Tom and Path up to a reality check for the rest of you. A teacher, a machinist and a banker. Three very different industries, all serious about our jobs and all middle aged and SOL. It does send a message to cut spending, save, and take nothing for granted. That car you've got can be fixed for cheaper than payments on a new one. It really is sad. Three necessary professions. Those who handle the money, those who make stuff, and those who teach the next generation out of work, not for cause but because of budget cuts. Its not like we were massage therapists or some other nonsense service that could be easily cut back on. It does make you wonder.

The REALLY scary part of it is that the place that laid me off made Medical devices, I spent 19 months machining biopsy cups, Now the customers aren't buying them at anywhere NEAR the rate they were. Whats THAT tell you about Obamacare.

There are those on this board (Marshalette) who MIGHT take offense at that characterization.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!
