1887 clone
« on: August 29, 2009, 06:23:32 PM »
I have one of these Chinese made 1887 shotgun clones. The lever is fairly stiff, and sometimes the lever doesn't quite want to go far enough to  eject the empty shells. Anybody have any "Smooth it up at home" Ideas for me??

Here is a site that has the dis assembly instructions for the 1887 Lever action shotgun. I would take it apart and look for and drag marks, rubbing or roughness that would cause a problem and smooth the area out. go slowly and keep trying it until you get the feel you're looking for.

Hope this helps

Got to be a fluff & buff method that should do the trick.

Thank you, the leather tassels are a nice touch...

Saw one of those chopped down on a sling rig once, it was very bad ass...

Yeah they come with the leather. I knew you'd enjoy it. ;D If I can ever get a stoc made for my coach gun, I'll post pics of it.

I'm not sure but I think the stiff action is why they put the leather wrap on the lever to keep from wearing your hand raw.

I'd say that's a good guess. Even smooth lever action rifles will wear on your hand, but this shotgun DEFINITELY needs the padding there.
