shot guns with damaskus barrels, more so when you  see some one shooting smokeless in them....

other then that no, but I'm not going to shoot off a super uber mag in a light wieght gun( I don't care if its a hand gun or a light wieght rifle.)

That's a sin they should burn in hell for even if they DON"T blow it up.

Not so much scare as respect, Maybe the 20mm boys rifles from ww2, single shot anti aircraft rifle.
I would try the .577 but only standing up first, not off the bench.

Great guns I have sighted in for other people for pay.
1) .460 Weatherby Mag, ouch!!
2) 450-500 nitro express double rifle, not too bad, but not for very long.
3) My 6.5lb Rem 788 scout rifle in .308 with plastic butt plate. Ouch!! Don't notice it hunting though. Until you take your shirt off and see the pretty purple spot.

Did not bug me, but I had a contender in .444 marlin, that was a hoot, yes the pistol not the carbine.

Come to think of it I'd be leery of this one too.

I can say from experience, that as long as you keep the BFR (Mine's a .45-70) at arms length it's not that bad.

That's an odd, but very cool choice of caliber for semi. I like it.

The only guns that scare me are those that have dangerous gun handling skills, like flagging you and poor muzzle disclispine.  Generally not afraid of bad guys shooting at me because I shoot back and hit my target and they can't.  Incoming mortar and rocket fire is a different issue.  Largest rifle gun fired was a 120mm on a M1A1 Abrams and largest fired from the shoulder was a 84mm AT4 anti tank rocket.

I thought the previous topic was about Desert Eagle, which does load magnum revolver rounds like .50 .44 mag, .454 casull etc in a semi auto. That's why I was surprised (and apparently with good reason) at the .45-70 reference.

Too true, but don't tell me a .45-70 Desert Eagle wouldn't have you asking, Why? Followed immediately by, How much? ;D

I dunno about scared about using a firearm, handguns I dont think I would have an issue although that being said it would greatly depend on the make, who loaded it and who maintained it.
I have seen people use some crappy guns that scare me.
As far as rifles yeah that .577 trex would make me hesitant as well as the 4 bore BP shot gun, that thing looks brutal.

I can attest to though that firing two .44's  simultaneously, one in each hand is quite fun!
