Alf, please explain why. Is the laminate a more stable stock material or does the heavy barrel make that much of a difference?
Short, heavy barrel. Just my, highly unscientific opinion, but I like bull barrels.....floating, well made, nicely crowned, bull barrels. My, again highly unscientific, opinion is, that in a .22lr, most any stock will do, as long as it supports the gun firmly during firing and doesn't touch the barrel. Heavier calibers and weather related conditions might favor one stock over another. And of course you want a stock
shape that's suited to the type of shooting. But shape and construction shouldn't be mutually exclusive.
