I forwarded the youtube link to an uber-liberal friend. She thought is was interesting but misguided. And she thought the bho poster as joker was offensive because you can't show a black man in whiteface. My response to her?
"So let me get this straight. It is offensive to portray the President as the Joker only if that President is African-American? It is offensive to portray the President as the Joker based on his skin color? It is offensive to portray the President as the Joker based on his racie?
Correct me if I’m wrong here, but isn’t that – say it with me now – racist? Basing your actions on someone’s race? You said it is more offensive to portray a black man in whiteface – which seriously misses the point of the Joker BTW – than it is to portray a white man in whiteface.
How is your statement any different from denying them the front of the bus based on their race?
How is your statement any different from charging them as poll tax based on their race?
How is your statement any different from denying them the right to keep and bear arms – the origin of most of the gun laws in this country BTW – including New York’s abysmal Sullivan Act - based on their race?
You suffer from white liberal guilt. In this allegedly post-racial age, with a black president, black AG, and all of the other blacks (and Asians and women and other “minorities”) – basing one’s opinions on race are tres passe’.
And just as wrong to do as it has ever been.
