Gun Bash
« on: September 13, 2009, 02:22:04 PM »
Our local VFD has a pretty good gun bash "Sportsmans Fest" coming up this weekend. It's a pretty good event. Tons of food and beer, lots of guns and other stuff given away. It is a huge fundraiser for the VFD. I would think if more had events like these, their financial problems wouldn't be so bad.

Here is the link http://www.svfc.com/ click on the sportsmans fest banner to see the ticket, pretty impressive.

Anybody else out there have events like this near them? Lets hear about them.

Damn - a gun every 5 freakin' minutes? Puts our VFD bash to shame - they had 3 whole guns!

Can we win by proxy? ? ? ? ? ?    ;D  ;D  ;D

They usually sell out ($40/ticket x 5000 tickets, you do the math). If they spend half in food and prizes, they still make a huge prifit for one day. Plus they have Coors Light Girls there selling 50/50 and side tickets for guns. Some vendors come. I think they roast over 20 pigs with the fixins and after 4pm they bring out wings and fries. It's a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Anybody want to come?  ;D

Apparently I just got the last 4 tickets from my neighbor, so they're sold out.  Next year I'll give everybody more notice.  ;)

They're not all mine, I'm taking 3 buddies along.

Well, I got skunked. Even dropped about $150 on side raffle tickets and didn't win anything.  :(

One of my buddies won 2 hats on the door prizes and a S&W 9mm Sigma on a side raffle. Not the greatest gun but better than nothing.

I was hoping you would win something to bring home. I guess you have the same luck as most of us... no luck.

Definitely my kind of luck when raffles are involved.

I always draw the hat size label.   ;)

Hope you had fun anyway.
