What I have been up to
« on: September 16, 2009, 11:53:28 AM »
Got out with a friend of mine and took a break from the guns. Getting back into my old habits. Having a blast. I'm banged up and sore, and haven't felt this good in a long time.

Glad to see there is another jackass out there. I learned to climb at Outward bound when I was 15 (my dad's attempt to toughen me up and give me an attitude adjustment, and for all the dads out there it worked, I highly reccomend it, even for kids who don't need a kick in the ass as its a very low key, no yelling program. The instructers let the mountains, cliffs and whitewater do the yelling. You either get it or you don't. It kind of defined my teaching style as well, show someone a cliff, they either climb down or jump off, either way you've done your job). Point is is I am scared spitless of heights and climb for just that reason. Its started at OB, became a pasion when I was lusting after a hot 20 year old junior rock climber when I was a college freshman. It got cemented in grad school when my very attractive thesis co-chair made me her climbing buddy since her car (a classic beetle) was in the shop for a couple of months for a refit. Anyway JC, rock climbing brings up fear, lust, pain and images of two very hot and sweaty women in sports bras and spandex. Not the most ratinal of hobbies, but Istill have my harness, Fir'es, 11mm rope and more

Looks like a heck of a time.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

I think you mean HARD HEAD. As for something FQ said. Once upon a time when I was REALLY stupid we thought it'd be fun to Climb to the top of Devils Tower, and then parachute off. Everything when perfectly until we landed right into the arms (and handcuffs ) of the parks rangers below. Apparently you're not supposed to jump off. So FQ, it's not always either or, sometimes we dumbass kids go and do both!

And as for the girls in spandex.......I found a welcome ledge or two last weekend.  ;D
