Problem with a holster maker
« on: March 07, 2007, 07:59:37 PM »
Folks

Help me solve this dilemma. Just over a year ago, I ordered a mag pouch holster and CCW belt from a fairly prominent small holster maker.

I wont say who he is...as yet.

He originally promised delivery to me three months later. That came and went. Then he promised to me last fall, still nothing.

I finally got him on the phone over a month ago, and he promised it to me two weeks after that...no package arrived.

I like the guy, but Ive spent over $200 to get something custom and it's a year later, and I dont have my items.

What is the norm regarding deliveries when someone doesn't deliver?

I like this guy and don't want to do him harm, but it's becoming clear to me that he's either overwhelmed with work or undercapitalized.

I had a problem like this last summer.  I just called and talked it over with the guy and he did get my holster done. It took some time (9 months ).  I carry it every day so it was worth the wait.

Good luck

Nope, sent an email to him yesterday, no response. I know he doesnt work on Fridays due to his religious faith, so I'll call him in the morning. I would have gotten to it sooner, but work has me worn out.

Also nope, JC isnt his initials.

You know folks, if he had initially told me it would take a year, I probably still would have ordered it. His stuff Ive seen is that good. I would have just made other arrangements in terms of gear in the meantime.

I just don't like to get the runaround from anyone. I don't put up with people lying to me at the newspaper, and I don't like to do that in my off time.

Heres a thread from the firing line from someone else addressing the problems Ive been having with the holster maker in question.

The poster named Phil Elmore is referring to me in his post...

And yet another thread on a different forum on the same subject. I havent posted to either this thread, or the one in the previous post, as I belong to neither of the forums in question.
