The part about the 9mm in the boat reminded me of a guy I used to work with.
He and his uncle were fishing on the Alapaha River here in south Georgia when a water moccasin fell from a low-hanging tree limb  into the boat. While he was thrashing around at the snake with a paddle, his uncle calmly grabbed up a 20 ga single shot and dispatched the serpent.......along with the boat. The boat sank....along with all their gear.....but they suffered no harm.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

They should have been drinking Hazarittas instead of beer!

Seems like the moral of the story is: Before you make any decisions, drink more beer.  ;D
