 I could understand a ban on CAR CHASES, they ARE dangerous to the public. But banning FOOT CHASES ? Bumping Granny or breaking an ankle aren't quite the same category as T boning someone at an intersection.

To be fair, from the video "Her Honor" does not seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Seems to me the sherrif should send out a copy of that memo and a video to every citizen and explain that his officers can't pursue someone running off with YOUR TV until the policy is changed do to Her Honor's direct orders, and may God bless her at the next town council meeting.. ;D ::)

Sounds like standard tactics - if you don't have a response or can't face the facts, attack the messenger.  At least she didn't get around to calling him a racist.

Poetic justice would her getting mugged in front of police officers and they would have to stand there and let the perp escape.
