Now I'm really ticked.
« on: September 24, 2009, 11:29:50 PM »
Since I can't get the lady that bounced the check to me on the phone, I went over to see her...

Forcloser noticed on the door, she had been booted out.   The damn bitch knew she was getting the boot and still had me do work.   1st thing in the morning I'm going to the DA and report her ass.

I am not in a good mood.

Sorry about that

If she knew she was getting booted what was the point in having you do the work in the first place ?

The only thing that I can come up with is she was trying to get it sold.  Then again, I  stoped trying to figure stuff like this out long ago.

She thought TAB was cute?
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

File a lien against the property before the bank auctions it off.

I've had a lien on it since I pullled the permit.

So my choices are now, take her to small claims, go to the DA or both.

Going to the DA is the fastest route to get a judgment against her.

Unfortunately, you can't get blood from a rock.  Your lien is probably the only thing that will get you any return on the monies.  If this lady is broke or close to it, a court can drag her into bankruptcy.  Any debtor can force a debtee into bankruptcy court.

Good luck!

Actually, if the lien is valid, and I presume it is, forclosure is a blessing. The bank can't sell until the title is clear, and they have the money to pay. You might have to  settle for pennies on the dollar if you don't want to go to court, but at least you will get something. A valid contractors lien will screw up a closing and the bank knows this.

The bank won't pay it till they sell it.  which could be in a month or it could be 2 years.
