Two of the toy guns came from a 12 and 14-year-old who used them to fire at a moving car. Officers responded to a call from a scared driver and the two kids were hiding behind a fence.

key words in the artical right there.

its no diffrent then them taking away a sling shot.  the kids are damn lucky the police did not shoot them( read teh artical)

What American boy didn't shoot at a car or dog or any other moving target with a toy gun??  OK, most quit by the time they were 8.
"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."

They should have taken them for shooting at cars..............

On a side note, I can't believe how realistic they make them today.

I was thinking about buying this Mauser just to hang on the wall in my den.  I really don't want to hang a real one up for anyone to grab.

Almost as good looking as a Mitchell!  :) and about the same price.

The police and media need to remove the words "fake" and "toy" from the reports.  A bb gun is a real gun!  Sure we use them to teach kids how to handle a gun, but we do now use them for sport and hunting, and there are many models out there that rival their powder powered counterparts for killing ability.

There is a parental issue here that needs to be addressed, and there is a media hype issue that needs to be addressed here.  Without letting the kids and parents off the hook I will state that the news reports are doing more to frighten the public than these teenagers did.

That's their objective.

That's their objective.

And I will go back to my old fashioned belief that the news should state Who, What, When, Where and Why, and they should leave the commentary to the commentary section which is labeled as such.

Today everyone with a microphone and/or camera thinks they need to save humanity and inject a social conscience.  Every reporter thinks they are here to fulfill the founding fathers wishes by fully exercising their First Ammendment Rights and exposing stuff that isn't even there ... Did the founding fathers say anything about creating controversy in the lack of any.

Before anyone asks, yes someone pissed in my Cheerios this morning!

Amen.
Report the facts as the facts.
Anything other than that should be required to be labeled as purely opinion.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Yes, they SHOULD do that, but that doesn't fit "the agenda".
