VLTOR's Fortis Project Is No More
« on: October 07, 2009, 11:45:23 AM »
If you were waiting for a Fortis that mimicked the Bren Ten you'll be waiting forever.  The Fortis is no more.

Good news is that VLTOR got the rights to use the Bren Ten name.  So...VLTOR will not be relasing a Fortis, but a Bren Ten ! ! !

Found any Mags ?

Actually, I haven't really been looking.  I'll bet that the new VLTOR model will fix that.

Aside from that..I've been thinking of late to part with my Bren Ten.  I have not yet shot it and I would prefer to have the "new model" from VLTOR for a shooter.  So...I don't like it being a safe queen but I really don't have anywhere I can keep it out to admire that won't dislocate a working gun.

There were only 1,500 of the originals made from D&D and many of those were damaged, lost, broken or destroyed.  I think I'd like to sell mine off to someone who would take care of it and be able to expose people to the legend of the Bren that I can't do.  I wonder if the new VLTOR model will have the Raven on it?

The one I have has the Colonel's Gunsite Raven emblazoned on the slide.

Does it come with a pale pink t-shirt, a white blazer, an African American sidekick and some aligator poop?

Oh, Yea, and a half naked dancer wearing a fruit basket on her head?

None of the above, but I bet you can get a nice Ruger hat out of it . . . .    ;D

Got an old pink tee lying around here somewhere with a white jacket...old and worn, but for $2,750 I can throw them in.  Aligator slime...that'll start at $250 extra just for me to get the courage up to ask my uncle (he raises gators back in Louisiana) for it.

Watched a scene as an extra, back in the day, where the blanks from Crockett's Bren Ten , stovepiped and misfired and set the muzzle on fire. It was thrown on the ground,  put out , reloaded , wiped down and kept firing.

Just a pointless moment, that the link reminded me of..

I wish the 10mm got the marketing the .40 did, it's a great round.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
