where to hunt w/handguns
« on: October 08, 2009, 01:05:06 PM »
      Have tried looking all over the internet on where a person can go hunting with a handgun be it small game to deer.
         More specifically somewhere in California.

where are you in CA?

I know of several places in Northern CA to do just that.  Deer its going to depend on what zone you draw.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Most, if not all places that allow hunting allow hunting with handguns of appropriate caliber.

CAs rules are 4+" barrel and centerfire.

Other then maybe bear, and some of the larger pigs, a 357 will drop anything in CA.   ( for those that don't know we have tiny deer here.  a 100 lb is a large deer)

not here   ::)

I know it is no help   just if you were looking for some hunting down under,  don't bother about bringing your hand guns over here.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

Come on out to WY. It is allowed here.

All of Texas, except for migratory birds, not even a pistol grip shotgun, has to be shoulder fired.

Handgun hunting = FUN ;D

one of the hard things about hand gun hunting for deer( atleast in most of northern CA) is 200 yds is a close shot.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.
