OK
I have been playing Hamlet over the AK vs AR issue to the point everyone, including me is sick of it. Problem solved,an unexpected $500 insurance payment coinciding with a sale on AKs from a reputable dealer. Too good to be true, right? Just so. My Mother@#$$%^& computer has died two months out of the extended warranty I paid for. Thus also my dreams of a $400 AK with extra mags go with it . I yield this to Path and Rastus who will say that God loves not an an Episcopalian or a Libertarian (and in this case they're right). But honestly guys, I was this close to having both the AR AND the AK. Now, I get to spend my money on yet another stupid electronic box that if I'm lucky, will make it five years.
FQ13 who wonders why his 10 year old truck and 90 year old shotgun run fine, but his 4 year old computer will cost more to fix than replace

PS All jokes (and I know they are both coming and deserved, and politics aside), you drop $1.5K on a machine and get four years? WTH? I get that it is cheaper to replace and make new than train repair techs, but this seems more than a little bit Fall of the Roman Empire to me. No, I'm not being melodramatic either. My greatgrandad bought his (now my) Parker in 1917. Its held its value. My 1998 F-150 runs as good as the day I bought it. Is it too much to ask that a $1.5K machine will see it's fifth birthday and not be seen as disposable trash? Just askin'
