I got that Path!  We need a new "whining" emoticon!   ;)

Ya know, a guy tries to go on vacation, tips his friends off to a place with good food, pretty women and great history. What does he get? A ration of crap! Tell you what, the next great town I find will be edited to exclude Path and Eric from the recepients list.
FQ13 Who is sitting back full and happy after two glasses of malbec, foie gras over corn cakes with black berries, mussels and home made pomme frites (or "freedom fries") and a nice cappucino  (all for under 40 bucks) and really doesn't give a damn right now about how the delegate from North Dakota will vote because I am fat and happy. ;D AR, AK? Who cares? Not me, not tonight, and yes, I am packing (thank you reciprocity rules).

Which raises the question, Are you carrying ? I checked and according to the NRA website (another resource TAB deprives himself of  ;D  ) Your Fl permit is good there and in Ga.

Yep, Florida (and a good few others) are welcome to CCW here in Georgia.........even FQ.   ;D

Actually, the only states in the south-eastern 'corner' that doesn't reciprocate with Ga is South Carolina and Virginia.

I appreciate you FQ.

How long are you there?   I roll in on Friday, got to attend a friend's son's wedding Saturday night, then back to Marietta on Sunday.

Wife and I will be staying over in Mt Pleasant (point pleasant), so I'm thinking a tour of the carrier and submarine.   We'll visit our old homes where we lived our first two years of marriage.  Probably walk the battery.   I'm hoping we're NOT invited to the rehearsal dinner and can go out on our own.

I'm looking forward to 3 whole days off.
Will work for ammo

The timing sucks. I would love to buy you a beer. I've got to roll out early Thursday. My reccomendations are Magnolia's (hit it for lunch, not dinner as it's the same menu, just 2/3 the price) and get the chicken livers in madiera with country ham. As a Southern boy I can say that is a gift from the gods. Also, hit Pearlz, about half a block away, between four and six. $7 a dozen oysters and a local micro-brew for $2.50 a pint. You can't beat that with a stick. ;D

Thanks for the 411, FQ, have fun, get relaxed, and shake off these knuckleheads for a few days.

But, when you come back, gloves on as usual. ;D

One of my ancestors served under Lincoln and was imprisoned on a prison barge in Charleston Harbor for 18 months after Lincoln surrendered. Yeah, Tom, I would have figured you would guess that I know my history here.

Ft. Pulaski was started during the Revolutionary War but not actually finished until the early 19th Century. And it didn't play that big a role in the Civil War.

The original post, for any who might have missed it, was a sarcastic replay of FQ's really annoying and just incredibly public angst (foreign word for "whining") over his AR "Sporter" and his newfound lust for an unaffordable AK.  >:(

 ;D

UM, Yeah. Ahhh, that would be me    ;D

Yeah.....I know....but every time I hear 'foie grois' I think of a dear friend's dad.....every time he heard it he would giggle and say, "Sounds too much like 'frog's ass' for me to eat....but then I'd rather eat a frog's ass than a goose's liver'".

 ;D

Just say NO to Patty the Frog's Ass.

Thing is Peg, I enjoy both. I am an unapologetic Florida Cracker. Livers (goose, ckicken, or duck) are considered delicacies. We also go out in the swamp and gig frogs (not gators, an important safety rule I learned the hard way at age ten ;D).Foie Gras, Frogs ass, it all sounds like good eats to any self respecting Florida redneck. 8)
