The MN DFL Party REALLY Scares Me!
« on: October 20, 2009, 03:36:03 PM »
With Obama and his political philosophy unleashed upon the nation we have this crap going on in Minnesota.  I'm becoming very afraid!

Steve Kelley, MN gubernatorial candidate, a Democrat from Hopkins and former chairman of the MN Senate Education Committee, called for creating a "Minnesota Children's Zone (the zone is the entire state), where all our children would be wrapped in safe, stable communities from birth to graduation, not just from high school but from some form of higher education."

Kelley said (the zone) would invest more in early childhood education, beginning "at birth, if not before," and provide a range of education, health and housing services for students and their families.

He wouldn't estimate the cost of his plan but acknowledged it would require tax increases combined with "redeploying money we're already spending." He said he'd consider raising a variety of taxes — not just income taxes, as some other Democratic candidates have proposed — including a new carbon tax. "It would be a way of raising revenue but also sending a signal about where we ought to go to protect our environment and develop a more energy-efficient economy."

"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it, misdiagnosing it and then misapplying the wrong remedies." (Groucho Marx)
