Cool - Mike Rowe as keynoter, about to start

Kids in coats and ties. Nice.

Spent three years there as youngest competed and loved it.  I won't miss an FFA banquet or program if I can help it, and it is one of the organizations I give to every chance I get.

Our adviser and teams left today (late last night).  Before he left he got me the scores for their trap league and .22 league, so I can compile scores and order their NRA awards for the year.  About 15 kids involved in each (many double up) and it costs me about $150 for everything for the year.  Money well spent!

By the way, as you watch those kids and listen to their speeches keep in mind that the format is history, but the content is written by the speaker.  These young people are great, and they come from everyday families in this great nation!

Up here we had 4H, but it never seemed to be in the towns I lived in so I never developed any real interest. FFA I seldom ever heard of until I started coming here.

I try to watch every year. We have a small team up there now. Our son wanted to go, but it coincided with our 4-H & FFA Fall Livestock show here this weekend. We just got in from taking his hog to the show barn and arena. He'll be showing in the market hog division.

We've been involved for several years in both FFA and as FFA Alumni Committee members. Our youngest has been in FFA since the 7th grade and is a HS Senior this year......... and is also Chapter VP for FFA.

We have done a lot of cooking (man these kids can eat) for his Ag-Science Academy class (only one in the state) and have been on field trips and many functions......... and I can honestly say that these young adults are top notch people.
They are a good group of folks to be around.

I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

;D

And you never will!

I've been behind the scenes and with the advisers.  They know it, they live it and they communicate it.  Nothing fake!  And, the advising leaders make sure of that.

Another reason I'm the Man I am today.  What a great organization.  (Insert shameless plug here)  Visit Iowa FFA foundation and you can buy Iowa FFA Foundation Diecast Tractors and Semi's.  That is the easiest Christmas present ever.  My lil sis gets me the John Deere one every year.  (saw the order form lying on the counter at the rents just the other day... hehe..)
