Bushnell is not gun friendly
« on: October 26, 2009, 01:41:51 PM »
Sign in front door going to Bushnell Optic repair and Outlet store NO FIREARMS ALLOWED ON PROPERTY. Pure BS they want to sell to us but no weapons on Property. Bushnell has always treated me good and warranty was excellent but this is bad. Time to fire off some letter and emails to the headquarters and ask them why this policy.

The gun shops around here have the same thing on the door.  I have a CCW and regularly ignore it.  I have talked to several of the dealers and what they say is they don't want any uncased firearms walking in as it is difficult to figure out the owners intent.  I have told them I have a CCW and am armed and all they say is "good!'.

Does your state allow 'posting'?

Gander has pretty much the same policy, They require all firearms to be registered, inspected and cased at the CS desk. They provide one for you if you don't have one. The clerk then seals it with a zip tie. I asked if this applies to CCW. I got a wink and a shake of the head. What they are afraid of is an ND from folks bringing in  loaded guns for trade or repair.
FQ13 who understands this this policy

Our Gander has the same sign, but it adds that it does not include conceal carry in that.

Disturbingly interesting here. I have been a Bushnell fan and supporter for 20+ years. Nearly all my rifles sport Bushnell scopes and I use several pairs of Bushnell binoculars and am also in the market currently for a range-finder.
I will have to inquire further into this policy. I would hate to stop patronizing Bushnell, but I do want to do business with 'gun friendly' corporations.

They don't have an email contact point for corporate.......... here is the listed company info:

I would probably think it was a local thing.....but would still inquire through the corporate level channels to see if they approve of the policy.....or are even aware (since it could cost them business).

I would think that since Bushnell is in KC, the home of Rep. Dennis Moore and lots of other liberal nut jobs, that that is the policy put in place by an employee. I really don't the corporation has even thought about the ramifications of being anti-gun in that way. Seems a little ridiculous to me but that is KC and they are ultra liberal, at least for the Midwest.

BTW, as a Kansan, we/I don't claim any part of Kansas City for Kansas, for the very reason that they are overrun with left wing nitwits.
