I have, over the years, attended various training classes. As a result, and after a few years of absence from shooting (because life got in the way) I decided it was time to take a refresher course. I just attended the Bruce Gray's 8 hr. "Pistol Skill Builder" course in El Cajon CA. Without a doubt, it was some of the best money I've spent on training. It has allowed me to take my shooting skills to the next level.
A word of caution, if you read the course description, it sounds very rudimentary. The description
does not do the course justice!!!! If you want "surgical concentration" placed on trigger control, and shot placement, as well as safe gun handling, this is a good place to start. With his experience from IDPA, IPSC and other competitions, Bruce and Co. have put together a class that will (IMHO) aid any shooter further refine and hone their pistol skills.
Even if you don't plan on becoming a competition shooter, the information contained in the training is well worth while.
(Just make sure you bring lots and lots of ammo...... you'll need it!
) As a result, I'm now
toying with the idea of entering something like the Ruger Challenge "just for the heck of it"

Anyway, just MHO, YMMV.
