Christians, like the guy that killed the abortion Dr. commit these acts because of what THEY THINK, the Bible means.
Muslims who commit mass shootings, and suicide bombings etc, are doing so because the Koran explicitly states things like "all infidels must be killed", and "the only excuse for a Muslim to befriend a Christian or Jew, is to deceive them".
Calling Islam "the religion of Peace" is like calling National Socialism the Politics of Peace.

I shouldn't be surprised at this paragraph, I've long been aware of the pathetic state of journalism:

"Muslims make up less than 0.3 percent of America's active duty military forces. Of the roughly 548,000 soldiers in the U.S. Army , there are 2,500 Muslims, 1,500 of them on active duty. By comparison, 105,000 claim Roman Catholicism as their religion, and 99,000 say they're Baptists. More than 1,800 soldiers say they're Jewish, surpassed by the nearly 2,500 who identified themselves as atheists. More than 101,000 list no religious affiliation."

Why pick and choose these stats? they leave, by my reckoning, 220,000 folks unaccounted for, or are we to assume there are no Lutherans, Episcopaleans, Church of Christ'ers in the military?

...or, for that matter, Hindus, Buddhists, or other religions....  ???

Methinks that our PC MSM (as well as the Fed's PR people) will be doing their darndest to keep the Islamic Extremist aspect out of public consideration.....

OTOH, I think this incident has caused me to reconsider the effectiveness of the 5.7 round out of a pistol......
Why, yes....I'm the right-wing extremist Obama warned you about... ;D

I just wish Texas was as free and independent as everyone thinks it is...   :'(

Agreed.  Yes, this was horrific but I believe it would have been much worse if he had had a larger caliber weapon.  A pointy .22 at hyper velocity is not a round I would want to carry for either self defense or hunting any thing bigger than a prairie dog.

Yup, really effective on unarmed, unsuspecting folks in a crowded room where they figured they'd be safe at least from Arabic-grunting, hypocritical cowards.

Judging from the fact that the shooter in hospitalized on a ventilator, it seems that a few of those unsuspecting folks were armed....esp. the civilian LEO that shot him down....

This guy picked Ft Hood because he knew that no one other than a few MP's and civilian cops would be able to stop him.  If he'd tried this at the shopping mall in Austin, about every other Texan walking around would have dropped him before he dropped his first mag.

This shitbag knew exactly what he was doing and either Texas law or Federal law makes sure he makes his appointment to meet his maker!  If they don't chose to give him the needle, they're doing it for political reasons, PERIOD!...

I don't know about Austin....it is pretty damned liberal.  Now, move to almost any other area of Texas and I heartily agree.

There are a few right-minded individuals left in Austin (not to mention out-of-towners who visit the malls) that could have made something like this more difficult for Mr. Hassan......

...but I've wondered why the terrorist cells haven't hit more soft targets in the US since 09/11....like malls, high-school football games, parades, etc.........

There have been attempts such as the Ft. Dix plot a couple years ago.

Ralph Peters called it right on when he appeared on O'Reilly the other night. This was a act of radical muslim terrorism, pure and simple. What would have been different if an Al Qaeda "sleeper cell" came ramming through the front gate at Ft. Hood with guns blazing killing United States military personnel and civilians? Absolutely nothing. Yet Hussein won't call it that, or MSDNC, or any of the other Obama networks. Instead he and his socialist administration will spin it, and sugar coat it to the max. Our military bases better start reevaluating their "gun free" position on these bases. Had all of the military personnel at that base had sidearms, the body count would have been far less. We as a nation have learned nothing from Virgina Tech. We better start, or this will continue to get worse.  Bill T.
