Just wandering if anybody has any opinions good or bad about the mauser hsc .380?  The 70s interarms models. Would appriciate some input.

It was originally manufactured in the 30's and still in production 40 years later. While I have no experience with the pistol I think there may be some hints there.

If you come across a Broomhandle grab it..

Not familiar with that particular model.

Pics?

Hello.  In the early '70's, my best friend bought one.  I shot it quite a bit.  If fed ball as well as the JHP's available back then.  If memory serves, the slide would (by design) slide forward into battery when a loaded magazine replaced an empty one if the slide was locked open.  The DA trigger-pull was pretty heavy and it had a very abbreviated hammer spur.  Field-stripping is not difficult.  I do remember that the checkered wooden grip plates seemed to wiggle even when the grip screws were tight; don't know if that is common of if his gun just happened to be that way.  The fixed sights were quite small but well-regulated such that POA matched POI.

He didn't own the pistol over a year.  During that time, it was shot perhaps 500 times or so.  I do not recall any issues.

Best.
