Yesterday I attended the Flight 93 Memorial groundbreaking ceremony in Shanksville, PA. Since I was in the neighborhood (only 3 hours away) I drove to the Hamburg Cabela's to do a little shopping.
I brought along our Bersa Thunder .380s to trade (not expecting much) and the gift cards I've been saving since earlier this year. I like to accumulate frequent travel points and use them for free money. This year has been pretty good in that regard. The suckish part is spending 100+ nights away from home so far this year.
My main purpose for the trip was to purchase a single action revolver. They had a Cimarron Evil Roy Competition SA in .357 with a 5½" barrel and case hardened frame. It was love at first sight (pun intended)! "I'll take it" I said. In the next display case was a Smith & Wesson 637 with Crimson Trace Laser Grips. It fit so well in my hand. "Buy me!" I heard it say. Who was I to say no?
The 637 was on sale, they gave me 5% off the SA since I took the display piece, and I bought 150 rounds on ammunition. After the trade in, the gift cards, tax, background check fees, etc,, etc., I ended up paying about $130 for everything.
We went to the range today, which has become a very rare occurance. The trigger on the Cimarron is amazing! We had great time and shot most of the ammo. I think I lost the S&W to my wife, who said it would fit perfectly in her purse.
I have become a wheel gun lover!
