He seems to have learned that lesson. He is also a keen student of history, something I think is a key quality in any President.

That just might be cuz of his Doctorate in History from Tulane!

Newt pissed me off some time ago and I don't remember why!

palin could not handle running the state with the least population, what makes you think she could handle running the country?

I don't think of her as short term 2012 pres material, but when has any president ran the country???

The office is about those around the potus, He or she needs the best and brightest, with no ties to the status quo, or only enough, that the status quo, know they have to deal with them, and its not going to be business as usual.

I think of Romney the same way as FQ, I do like Newt, but don't think he is electable, but his new messages and interviews might get him somewhere, He is more of a statesman, than all the rest, and We do need a true statesman.

Heard great things about Jindal, just don't know if he can pull it off.

Believe me, McCain would not have done as well without Palin, she is great as a polarizer of the conservative side. She also does not back down, We need people like that, no apologies for our way of living that has to include giving lip service and money to ideals we don't believe in.

We have 3 yrs to come up with someone like Ronald Reagan, articulate, forceful and with a will to get things done. I don't have a clue of who that might be, but definitely not any of the aforementioned. I remember in my 20's President Reagan, coming down to congress with what looked like a 100 lbs of bills, and flat told them to get busy and straighten it out. When was the last time any of you remember a President, taking a stance like that, and embarrasing the congress or senate on live tv. That's what we need.

In closing, I want someone new, I would like some of the candidates that have great skills in the cabinet, like Romney, like Palin, Like Gingritch, each to their special skill. Throw the status quo out the window when possible, this is hard for me, as I like my reps, but a clean slate should be free of former parasites, even if I like them.

He supported the RINO in NY's 23rd district, the one who quit and urged her supporters to vote for the DEM instead of the Conservitive.

so tell me, why is palin so great?  I asked you this Q in another thread, and you never replyed too it.

I didn't answer because like FQ you have your mind made to hate her and trying to convince you is a waste of band width.

Tell me that "multiple choice Mitt" doesn't remind you of a used car salesman and I'll take the hit. As far as Jindal, he has my respect for being a damn smart guy. He does need to brush up on his public speaking skills, if his speech in response to Obama was any measure. He is someone that I would take a long look at though. I would say the same from Ginrigich. Newt has grown up a lot since 1994. At the time, he forgot that winning the revolution was more fun than governing afterwards. He seems to have learned that lesson. He is also a keen student of history, something I think is a key quality in any President.

Since you didn't read the comments I put in the article I will say again as I have before, Romney is a RINO. Maybe not to the extent of Snowe, Collins, and McCain, but he's not trust worthy.

TW asked "Do I think a Palin-Huckabee or whatever would be better? Better than the current POTUS & VP?"

I think Trigger and Scout would do a better job than the Hunch back of Tokyo and Crazy Joe.

No, he is as bad as Snowe et al. He was in on the homosexual take-over of the school system in MA, as well as the assault weapon ban in MA. Not to mention he was totally incapable of doing anything about the tax in Taxachusetts.  I will never vote for Romney - ever.

I think Trigger and Scout would do a better job than the Hunch back of Tokyo and Crazy Joe.

Trigger's and Scout's leavings could do better than bho.

No, well yea, that pisses me off now but this was about 14-15 years ago.  Made me mad enough to resign from the GOP and go independant.

I heard a recent qoute about conservatism in this country.

"The only thing standing in the way of wide spread conservatism in this country is, the republican party."

That is a true statement. Sad but true.

"If someone is so fearful that, that they're going to start using their weapons to protect their rights, it makes me very nervous that these people have these weapons at all."
Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA)

I have become a fearful American.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

No, actually it's because I don't have enough respect for you political opinions to give a crap what you think.
