New shooters are what we want.

Lots of new shooters.

And girl shooters at that.

Hey, we need something to look at between stages.  ;)

Well I live in Iowa and there isn't anything remotely close.  So yeah.. I'll consider NC South for you. LOL.. Still think it is BS there aren't more of these comps.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing with the Ruger Rimfire match locations too, since I am from Illinois just east of St. Louis.

There is a guy by the name of Doug Carden.  He lives there in Iowa, and puts on a Big Dawgs Steel Match every year.  I think it is a little different than your typical Steel Challenge or Ruger Rimfire format....in that the targets are not necessarily all circular plates or big rectangles....and I would imagine the layout from one target to the next (the stages) varies from year to year.

Oh...yeah...his match is different too in that it is strictly just two centerfire divisions:  Open and Limited.  And no classes, just run whatchya brung head's up within each division.

I noticed that the first big match in the Ruger Rimfire 2010 match schedule was in Piru, CA.  That is where the World Steel Challenge Shoot is held.  So in short....it might just end up being a much huge-er pond with much larger sharks.  Not necessarily a place for amateurs or kids to shoot at.

Thanks Tyler.. That match is even in Eastern Iowa.  Looked it up and it is difficult to see where it is located at.  I found where you send your reg. to West Branch and it seems that reg. says the shoot is in Lowell, Ia.  Either way it is not far away.  I'll have to sign up for their e-mails when I get home from work.  Hopefully I am able to at least watch and possibly participate.  Thanks again!

Hi All,
          The matches that are posted are not all of them (can be more), go to www.teamrimfire.com  just below 2010 schedule it has a link to region map also shows dates with nothing listed, need some clubs/ranges to step up or people to ask a club/range to host a regional match the contact info is on the web site at the bottom of the page.

Regards,

Will there be a 2010?
Where?
When?
What courses of fire to expect (target type, SIZE and DISTANCE would help)
What rule changes?
Entry Fees?
Awards/Prizes?

Hi Alf,
        I don't have all the answers but I'll give it a shot,
1st = Yes.
2nd = Ruger regional in 9 zones.
3rd = clubs/ranges need to contact Nelson Dymond ( team rimfire).
4th = all steel, any, most pistol within 15yds, rifle, no set distance but looks like within 60yds.
I have plates from 18"x24" to 6"x 6" and 8" round through 12" round.
5th = start position, rifle can be at shoulder low ready and pistol at low ready, point at flag 12' from shooting position.
6th = host range makes that call.
7th = Ruger is giving 4 guns to each regional match.
I'm adding a gun from my range, trophies for High Open/Limited/Revolver/Cowboy/Lady/Junior etc.

Hope this helps,
                      Dean
