I am going to add my insightful, and at the same time brilliant observation on the matter.

<-------- sarcastic grin y'all.
I would go with the 26 over the 36. I am a GLOCK flag waver to be sure...but the 36 is the one Glock I own (and I own one or two of each model except the Glock 18) that I don't
like a lot. It is a handful in .45acp. The grip frame pounds the holy crackerjacks out of my two middle fingers. The 26 is a little fire-breather. Accurate, reliable, and holds 10 rounds with another in the pipe. It will also, as mentioned by others here, function with all 9mm mags for other Glock models, or take +2 floorplates for a little gun with a big gun attitude and ballistoc payload.
I own both, and NEVER carry the 36. The 26 is MUCH easier to shoot fast and accurately. I am not particularly recoil sensitive, but the 26 is a sub-compact pistol that can be counted on just as much a full size boomer.
For those who decry the 9mm as a mouse caliber...will you volunteer to catch a few? I like the 9mm, I trust the 9mm, and have used it to save my life and the life of my partner.
Do I DISLIKE the .45acp? Nope....I have deep and abiding love for the big thumper...but for a sub-compact pistol...I go with the Glock 26 any time.
Just my not-too-humble-yet-always-correct opinion.
