The only gun I ever regret buying was back in 1985. I bought a brand new Remington 7400 semi auto in .30-06. It was on sale at a Service Merchandise store, and I bought it on a whim. Big mistake. I mounted a really nice Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10X 40 MM scope on it and headed to the range. After a box of Winchester factory Silvertip ammo, the bolt became difficult to close on a live round. This continued until it would barely lock up at all. I stopped. Went home and cleaned and oiled it, checked the head space, (which was fine), and put it in the safe where it remains to this very day. I totally lost interest in it. Since then I've read one horror story after another about these POS's. I keep saying one day I'll take it to a good smith and get it running right, but that day never seems to come.  Bill T.

As hard as they try S&W just never can seem to get their act together with auto pistols. The one exception is the Model 41. With production costs getting higher and higher, it's most likely only a matter of time before it goes out of production much like the Model 52.  Bill T.

I hate 4506. They just do not feel right. Crappy grips and malfunctions all the time. Probably the reason I have not picked up a M&P. Fear of getting another mistake.
