Thank you bulldog
Right back at you, but is there anywhere we can give something cheap and real? Last year, when my step dad was still here, one of the secretaries in his office had a son in Iraq. She suggested a care package to his platoon as the law offices Christmas Charity project. It was enthusiastically adopted and the 12 gauge and bong were dinged, but basically, folks got to give low dollar, but useful stuff. A ten dollar frisbee here, was gold in Iraq. Everything from baby wipes, to advil, to M@Ms, to gift cards from the I Tune store, to "bore cleaner" in Lexan bottles, which smelled just a bit like JD (my contribution). ;) The thing is you cn't send directly to a soldier you don't know for obvious reasons. Still ,it would be nice if there was an outfit that would let you send a cigar or  gameboy cartridge or just a new pair of socks to one of our guys and girls without the bureacratic BS.

You just got a scale bump in the "opinion of" department. Any suggestions?

I appreciate the "bump" but no. The USO does good work, but you just send $25 dollars to a generic care package. The cool thing about about ours, was we knew the soldiers names, we were able to fit in family photos, their favorite candies, (a little "bore cleaner")  and a lot of just dumb cheap stuff from the mall. Everything  from $20 remote controlled helicopters from Toys 'R Us, to a a bunch of DVDs, tampons, baby wipes, beef jerky etc..
If I could find a charity that would do that I would be on it like a rash. The thing is, our guys and girls don't need money or pity. They just want the stuff they could buy for themselves if they could swing by Wally World, and having people say "Thanks" now and again can't hurt either Thing is, the'yre a little busy right now. So please find that charity texcaliber, and I will match you dollar for dollar (or at least put my G19 on the line in a raffle).

Five hours and half hours before my Christmas Vacation begins and I head to the family hidden mountain bunker somewhere around Deadwood.

So, to everyone MERRY CHRISTMAS

Ok. I don't know if I'm reporting on a local problem or if its more widespread, but Toys For Tots is hurting down here. I stopped by Wallyworld today and dropped off $100 worth of unwrapped toys at my firestation. Please do the same. The economy sucks for all of us, but its Christmas and if we don't buy those kids gifts, no one will.
FQ13 who will shoot the first person to call me Tiny Tim twice in the face, but the obligatory guilt trip has been laid on, so buy some freaking toys already! :D

I hope every one has a safe and Merry Christmas.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
