Sorry, Michael. I appreciate the effort, but the opening music for show #140 was NOT bagpipe music. Also, if you Google "Michael Hamilton" you will find that he is scamming people wrt bagpipe music and items. His rendition of Little Drummer Boy was performed on a keyboard programmed to
sound like bagpipes.
I played the pipes for four years and my son was in a bagpipe band during that time. The chanter of the bagpipes only has nine notes, which spans one octave and not in any particular key. It is almost impossible to play any type of music on the bagpipes except bagpipe music! Amazing Grace is the most well known because it fits in the chanter's range. Otherwise, you must substitute a note that is one octave higher or lower to get the correct sound, and it is obvious when you do that.
If you want really good bagpipe music look for CDs from the likes of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band (
www.sfupb.com), Michael Grey, Jack Lee, Bruce Gandy, and Gordon Duncan.
Just FYI,

Dave
