easy pulled pork
« on: January 04, 2010, 01:16:08 PM »
1 pork butt big enough to fit in crockpot
1 big onion chopped up
1 can Schwepps or Verners Ginger Ale, Gingerbeer will also work very very well indeed, MtDew works good too.

step 1 - drop pork butt in crock pot
step 2 - drop chopped onion and soda in crock
step 3 - cook 8 - 10 hours
step 4 - remove meat from crock - it should pull appart with two forks
step 5 - after pulling apart the meat - look in the crock.  the fat should begin to separate from the juice - skim off fat
step 6 - dump shredded pork into left over juice -

pig out!
Have your musket clean as a whistle, hatchet scoured, 60 rounds powder and ball and be ready to march at a minute's warning.

I have the feathers if you have the tar...

Back to OP, I have never tried it with ginger ale.  Hmmm.  I can attest that BEER is good.

We wanted something easy today so we made this.

Very good. Nice taste to the pork.

Try using MOJO (comes in a bottle from either GOYA or BADIA) instead of the soda.  Citrus based and made for pulled pork.
All tipoes and misspelings are copi-righted.  Pleeze do not reuse without ritten persimmons  :D
