I have watched the "Whale Wars" show, and have seen their disruptive attempts, evolve into more bold and violent attacks on ships.

Maritime law, is old and pretty specific, Also noticed the "whaler's footage" showed the "stealth" boat in gear, wake behind transom, deliberately cutting in front of the whaling ship, which doesn't turn really well in tight spaces.

They got what they deserved. Regardless of what you "feel" about whaling, these idiots cut in front of a whaling ship, and got rammed.

In the old days, ships had cannons, or small deck guns, rifles for sure, and would just consider it act of piracy. Seems the Shonen Maru, acted like any good Capt. would.

Let the tree huggers go to Oregon and stand in the middle of the mountain roads the logging trucks roll down, and see what happens...

This is just payback for the Steve Irwin ramming the Jap Harpoon ship last season. The Irwin turned into a Japanese ship at 20 knots ramming into her port side causing a breach in their own hull then had the guts to tell the media that the Irwin was the victim. I watched the Sea Shepherds own video that contradicted the idiots claim. But what do you expect from a bunch of untrained tree hugging, save the whale blow hards. They are going to get killed or kill someone else and then claim that it was all evil capitalists against the whales. I do agree that what is going on down there is in violation of the UN agreement but at the same time that's no excuse for piracy.

If you watch this clip from the Jap ship, you are correct. They were in gear, moving forward, almost daring them to ram them. Also, notice how fast they got it into reverse and backed up after they got hit. They could have avoided the whole thing. They wanted to run with the big dogs, and they got bit. Idiots all.  Bill T.
