These clowns are upset about the whaling and claim it is illegal under international treaty.  They have been fighting it, and no one else seems to join them.  Since they can't get it stopped legally they poke at the Japanese to get them to do something else to stop them (the same idea as the football player that responds to a punch and is the only one penalized).  This incident will be something they try and use in courts to stop the whaling.

If you don't think they are trying to get violent actions, watch the episode where they harass the whaling ship until the Williams gets shot in the chest.  He was wearing a vest because he feared this would happen ... translate hoped this would happen.

We are all a basically right wing leaning, conservative group here, and look at how many of us side with the Japs in this instance. The more this group does to draw violent actions to themselves, the more they will be criticized for it, and the more following they will lose. This happens all the time with these kind of people. It's much the same with the left and Sarah Palin. The more Letterman, and the rest of the Hollywood left wing loons pick on her, the more popular she becomes. No one like to see someone, anyone, be it an individual or group, get constantly picked on. It gets real old, real fast. That was a fairly large, high performance boat capable of 40 knots. They could have easily avoided the whole thing but didn't. They won't achieve martyr status for allowing themselves to be hit so stupidly. They played chicken with the wrong boat, and that is pretty much how everyone sees it. To be honest, I found all of it to be highly entertaining !  Bill T.

Entertaining to be sure, esp as you get the videos from both sides. The wake showing int he Japanese video is telling - the black boat was under power.

Too bad about the boat. I remember when it set out on an around the world sail using nothing but used cooking grease. Cool looking, innovative boat, too bad these wankers had to go and lose it through their own stupidity.

Maggie and I tried to watch a couple episodes of the show....couldn't watch because we were screaming so much at the tv. These guys are a*****s plain and simple. Pirates. Someone's navy should just go blow their dumb asses out of the water and it would be perfectly legal. The captain was thrown out of Greenpeace.

I saw one time they sent a little boat with a few guys who BOARDED the whaling boat. The whaler crew contained them (naturally) then the captain called the press and told them the whalers had "kidnapped" some of his crew. Then one time they almost lost their bigger boat because they wandered too close to the ice and got stuck. Good captain.
If they were conservatives they would be in jail already.

 A lot of the "volunteers" think they are going to study whales until the "Captain", puts them in unnessecary danger with his grandstanding. He will eventually get some one killed.

now granted, its still a very short video, so we have no idea whats actually going on, but from that clip it sure looks like they truned into them.

In the longer videos you could see the ship turn into it as well.  However, in the other views you can also see the boat jockying around.

In a simple case of seamanship you would say the ship was wrong due to the last move.  However, if you look at the whole episode the blame is on both. I liken it to a pesky mosquito ... you keep swinging at it to keep from getting bit, and sooner or later it was going to get swatted.
