FA it is nice to see SOMEONE, not sandbag a classifier.

Tab if you watched the mixed revolver/pistol match invitational at Gunsite, Dave would need a lot of practice with some platforms.
Don't get me wrong, Dave is a great shooter.

Have you ever taken a Glock apart? There is VERY LITTLE to replace or upgrade. In fact the article lists what was on/in the gun; it would be able to qualify for Production/SSP in USPSA/IDPA.

I know you like 1911s, as I do, but you have to get over your irrational hate of these pistols. The Gen 4 pistols are really the closest thing to perfection now....

you don't need to replace anything to tune a gun, something as simple as honing the mating surfaces can make a huge diffrence.

Actually there are several very rational reason why I don't like glocks. 
lets forget get all the stuff that is subjective.  Lets focus on the things that are platform  related.


 safety.

they have none,
you have to pull the trigger to take apart the gun( yeah safe handling rules should cover this, but we all know that people don't awalys fallow the rules)



also you can not run a 1911 is ssp/ stock pistol.

its alot like super stock drag racing, the rules on bore spacing  will only let you run either a bbc, smaller mopars of FE style ford blocks.   You can't for example run a 460 ford.  So if you want to run a ford, you are stuck with a 65 year old engine design that has  zero after market racing parts, not to mention the fact that  the bigest motor you can build will still be well over 200 CI smaller then one you can build with a chevy or a mopar.  yet people claim, that the BBC is the best motor and cite this racing class as proof.

I would bet that there have been more AD's on the 1911 platform from people lowering the hammer on a round than pulling the trigger on a Glock to dis-assemble it. The 1911 is the sum of its fitted parts, the Tupperware is not. Sevigny is da man.

I would not be so sure about that. 

I have little doubt that there have been more NDs with glocks then there have with 1911.  and the 1911 has 70+ years on glock.

A big part of that is LEOs shooting themselfs,  Our local SO was average 3 a year, when they had glocks, since they switched to sigs, they have only had 1.  its been about 5 years.

 TAB, In you pig headed posting you completely miss the point that with a NEW to EVERYONE pistol, he not only did better than they did, He did better than HE had ever done before.
Sure, a highly skilled shooter can shoot well with any pistol, but it takes a VERY good pistol to allow a multiple national champion to outshoot HIMSELF.

Here's the thing about Glocks. They are monkey simple. Compare them to 1911s. Everybody and their dog makes a 1911 and they're a zillion custom shops that will fine tune yours. You can buy God's own number of custom barrels, trigger groups, grips etc. How much of ths stuff is offered for the Glock?  When did you last see someone offer a "custom" Glock? The reason is that it doesn't need it. This isn't Quaker drinking kool-aid, its just looking at the marketplace. If there were a demand for fancy custom glocks some one would get rich meeting that demand, likely several someones. That isn't the case. This should tell you something.
