Haven't been on the forum much lately, so if someone already posted this I appolagize.  CR and FQ, not all the crazies are in Flordia, some are in Michigan besides the Canadian governor.  I did some crazy crap when I was younger, but not this.  This guy apparently never grew up and Darwin hasn't quite caught up to him......YET!

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (USA Today) -- A 62-year-old Michigan man has been hospitalized with burns after the rocket backpack he built to power himself on a sled exploded, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe says the unidentified man, who had been drinking before the accident, suffered second-degree burns to his face and body, and possible eye damage.

"Apparently he has this sledding party every year, and he always does outrageous things at it, but he's never blown himself up before," McCabe tells the newspaper.

The would-be rocket was powered by a used auto muffler filled with gasoline and gunpowder.

"He asked another person to light a wick and then began to sled down a hill," McCabe says. "At some point during the ride, the device exploded."

But, McCabe reports, at least he was wearing a motorcycle helmet.

It was a male
62 years old
Michigan residence
2nd degree burns w/ eye damage
has a yearly sledding party

ask someone to light the wick
constructed out of a muffler

BUT WE DON'T KNOW HIS NAME?   Oh sorry chief, I forgot to get his name, but you want to know the brand of gasoline?

Whats amazing is that the guy lived to be 62. Can you imagine the crap that he pulled in his early twenties? Sitll young and stupid but old enough to drink and with disposable income. The very idea is scary.

ACME instructions SPECIFICALLY STATED NO GASOLINE!!!!!!!!

Had to use jet fuel......geez, they'll never get it right that way,....
