« on: February 12, 2010, 08:14:45 PM »
For those guys that have forgotton about it, its sunday.( you know that day they use to play foot ball on)

Yes, I've not figured out what I'm going to get my wife.

I was kind of hoping to get her another car, just have not been able to find any cars worth buying.

We already limon lawed one toyota( rav 4, talk about POS.)... I don't see us buying another any time soon.

Some one did have a very nice 68 stang, but its not a "safe" car.  you get in a wreck in that car and you are going to get hurt very badly.

Seems like it's the CAR's safety you need to think of, SHE seems to do OK.

Dude, It's a 68, they made them with steel

Bein' all romantic and stuff, I got her a pair of Leupold 8x25 binoculars to use for spotting game.

Ain't I sweet.

Actually, she asked for them for our upcoming Alaska trip, so I'm not quite as uncaring as you might think.  Also taking her this weekend to see her mother in Tucson.  Be using the "business office" computer at the hotel each night.

Binoculars would be the best.. I need a really good small pair ..
I think that is a terrific gift..100 times better than flowers that just wilt and die..

The first time my old man had a midlife crisis, he took us on a rafting trip in the grand canyon for manly bonding when I was about 24. I hurt my foot second day out and had to pass on a lot of the hikes. This left me on the beach to flyfish/or help out the very comely cook who was ten years my senior. I like to cook. Day four, I saw a Mt. sheep and wished I had a pair of binocs. Blake said wait, and got out a pair of leicas. Very nice glass. She then mentioned they were one of the two gifts her, by then very ex boyfriend, had given her for her anniversary six months before. "First, he gives me these when he knows I like my Leuopolds better. Cheap bastard just gives them to me because he wanted to use them. That's why they're on this trip, as a spare. Then, two days later, I discover he gave me crabs. Had to get a full STD test. Only thing I insisted on in the settlement was these so he couldn't use them." The Quaker was comforting and supportive and still has warm memories of this trip and strangely complex feelings towards binoculars. ;D Survey says, don't give them to your spouse. ;D ;D ;D

yeah with no head rests and only lap belts.  the car is going to be fine, you on the other hand are not.

Replace the seats with high performance belts and cover the exposed gas tank in the trunk if the 68 still had that issue.  My 64-1/2 was no hot rod but it was the only one in my neighborhood in 1965...and one of the few in the parking lot at school.

I'd buy another one in a heartbeat, straight six and all...put a decent suspension under it and enjoy...
