I used to get in my dry-fire practice with my 1911A1 by "shooting" at Dan Rather on TV. (I no longer watch CeeBS.) i was doing this one night and my wife says "You're always playing with that gun, does it have a name?"
The first thing that came to mind was "Roscoe", which was a Depression-era slang term for a pistol. That's what I told her, and that has been Roscoe ever since.
Haven't named any of my other guns, although I do tend to talk to them..........
