i have a strictly mechanical relationship with my guns. once you start humanizing a machine a gun it becomes more than a tool and you end up having feelings for it.

Milling machines have personalities ! I name every one of them I work on, The  only one that even "Hustler" would print is "The machine".    
I do not, however name my guns.
But then I do not name my shirts or skivvies either.

I have to say TW, that's kind of like naming a Beagle or Great Dane "Dog".   ;D
However my 12 Guage may have become "Thumper" today, more on that this weekend  ;D

I don't name mine.  Hell, I have trouble getting HazJrs' name right half the time.  CRS is a BIOTCH! ;D

My son-in-law named his .308 "Butter" because of the smooth action.  His AR15 (which I now own since he lives in Kalifornia and is not allowed to own such a thing) is named "Envy" on account of it being green.  I have been inclined to call it "Kermit" for the same reason.

I used to get in my dry-fire practice with my 1911A1 by "shooting" at Dan Rather on TV.  (I no longer watch CeeBS.)  i was doing this one night and my wife says "You're always playing with that gun, does it have a name?"

The first thing that came to mind was "Roscoe", which was a Depression-era slang term for a pistol.  That's what I told her, and that has been Roscoe ever since.

Haven't named any of my other guns, although I do tend to talk to them..........

I have 2 Ruger Blackhawks that I have named.

I have never named mine. Except to refer to the large caliber rifles as "the big boys", and all smaller caliber stuff including pistols as "the little guys". When I am dialing in to make a loooooooooong shot however, I always address my rifles as "sweetheart". Makes them feel loved, and I usually see improved performance.  ;)
