Heck, my P3AT is so small and has so much plastic that I 'occasionally' forget and walk into the Post Office with it.  Never tripped and alarm at the metal detectors.

Solus,
Knives do not qualify as "under arms", probably because everyone is assumed to carry one, swords do qualify though. But I would hate to bring a knife to a gun fight.
I don't expect to be under arms at the NRA Convention, but I bet there are many who are going to be.

Correct.....I know from my time is the Army and from Fencing Training.  You need to always be at attention when under arms also and shouldn't salute.

Somehow, I don't find it feasible to be at attention when I carry, particularly concealed or in a lawn chair...

I just wanted to give you a way to have a hat with us all..

Take care.

"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."

Another thought....meet at the Outdoor Channels Booth at a particular time each day and gather the Downrange folks together for a libation or two, or nine or until the three M's run out of money! ;D

Still don't know for sure as my sisters memorial is scheduled for the same week.  Can't be in two places at once.

Did that with my .357 once. I was the ONLY ONE who looked around when it went off. Took it back out to the truck, but I don't think anybody would have bothered me about it if I hadn't.

The Charlotte Convention Center is a "gun free" facility.

Ironic?

Last year, at Phoenix, the convention center was gun free too. It was because alcohol was served.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

I saw a lot of people open carrying at and inside the convention center, last year.
