Sitting here wishing TAB or FQ would rattle my cage ... or glad they haven't  ;)

In my opinion, this is not a question about whether I would or should, or you would or should open carry.  This is a question about whether the law should allow us to or prevent us from exercising our Constitutionally guaranteed Rights.

Yes, carry, open or concealed, should be legal in every state!

From an American point of view its great, and I would support it to a degree.

However, the LEO's and their unions would have their boxers in a bunch, and the 22 year old "rookie" officer, with an itchy finger and lack of exp. would be a cause of concern.

Than where would it stop? Go to the supermarket with my AK  slung over my shoulder? Tactical vest, with 150rds in 5 extra mags?

I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin,.... I prefer a National CCW, it just keeps from scaring the sheeple...

While I agree with you about the mall ninja stuff, it will only scare the sheeple until it becomes common. The hope is eventually to start turning the sheeple into sheep dogs. I think that this would be a huge step in turning the culture of this country back into one of personal responsibility.

I think the mall ninjas would get weeded out pretty quick by sheer peer pressure.

A fellow once posted on here about a country with a citizen military, and in the article was a gentleman with a Sig 550 on his back shopping, and not a surprised look about anyone around.

Over 96% say it should be legal in the poll. I was one of them.  ;D

Screw Not Scaring the sheeple. I ain't gonna be doing anything wrong with my legally openly carried firearm any more than I do with my legally concealed carried one(s) now. They can be scared  until they realize that I'm going to the grocery store for the same reason as them. TO BUY FOOD FOR MY TABLE. I just happen to be carrying a firearm to protect myself from carjackers/muggers on the way to and from the store.

I wouldn't open carry all the time, but would some times.

Good timing on this subject. Here in CA, our state assembly is hearing AB1934 next week, a bill to outlaw open-carry. The rest of the Country is moving one way, but our state continues to push the opposite way.

As many of you know, I have family in AZ, an open carry state.  Of course, now they are also a non-permit concealed carry state so anyone without a disqualifying background factor may carry concealed.  Anyway, back to the open carry question...  When I have visited Mom and Dad, I have open carried in AZ.

My current favorite piece is a Red Hawk in .44 Mag and it reeeeeally doesn't lend itself to concealed carry on my svelte physique, so I kinda welcome the opportunity to have it with me when I am in AZ.  New Mexico is the same way.  So, when I drive across the border from El Paso, I pull into that first NM rest area and strap a holster to my leg, wherein resides my Red Hawk.

The rest of the time, I CC my Glock 27--yeah, it's Tupperware, but my Tupperware will throw 11 rounds of Speer Gold Dots wiith surprising speed and accuracy, should the need arise.

And before someone gets their knickers in a twist, I know standard mags don't allow for that many rounds, but I have a Pierce extension and I carry one in the pipe.

And I think it should be legal in all 57 states (yeah, that was a slam on Odamna)  Now I can be on a watch list, too.

I'm with ya CR.  Here in FL where you and I reside I would like to, on occasion carry my BBQ gun (Redhawk .45) or my 3 screw Blackhawk .357, neither of which lends itself to CC here in Tee-shirt and shorts land. ;)

About the Sheeple....Yes, they would get used to the presence of firearms.

And it is likely that they ARE Sheeple because they have been conditioned to believe they are not competent enough to handle firearms to protect themselves.

The commonplace open carry might just do some deprogramming and free some of the Sheeple.

Exactly!

When I was growing up every auto parts outlet carried gun racks for pickups.  I actually thought they were standard equipment.  Guns, shooting and hunting were a part of everyday life.  You could buy guns in every catalog that came out.  The Sunday paper had fliers from stores, and the Winchester 94 was commonly in there for anywhere from $75 to $95.

Over the years everything gun as slowly been taken away, and now people are afraid of them.  There is something to be said for having something in full sight in everyday life.  Put guns back in everyday life with no special attention, and people will find that they are no different than a tool like the pen in the shirt pocket or the fingernail file in the purse.
