"My hatred is thinly veiled'? Newsflash: I admire the guy. He may play for a team I don't like, but that doesn't mean he isn't damn good. You may hate the Colts, but you have to admire Peyton Manning. Same with Luntz. He is a "political operative" (defined as someone who gets paid to win elections) . That's not an object of scorn for me. You forget what I do for a living. I study American politics. Hell, if political scientists had trading cards, Luntz, and Carville, would be like Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron. Love their teams or hate them, but the guys just don't lose. I think this is the difference between you and me. You are like a sports fan who roots for a team. I am like a sports fan that just loves the game. You want to watch you favorite team, or those could be a threat to them in the playoffs, otherwise, you'll watch something else. Me, I could watch the Browns play the Bucanneers and have just as a good a time. You take it personally. I don't. I believe what I believe, but it doesn't mean I can't appreciate a well made play that the other guy executes. There is no bias, liberal or otherwise, clouding my judgement. Carville and Luntz are guys that put their candidates into office period. Whether the system should work that way is a whole different question. Here, I will have little good to say about a set of rules that makes guys like this neccessary, but as long as it what it is, they are both damn good at thier jobs. I will close with this. They would both be flattered by being compared to one another, because they are both professionals at the top of their game. (Crazy as hell, but at the top none the less).
Peace
