Worst movies
« on: June 27, 2010, 10:27:33 PM »
Last night I watched 25 minutes of Bruno, I am not pro gay, or anti gay, but I think this movie probably offends the the gay community, it is really out there, next was Ed Gein, serial killer, targeting older women, with Stephen Railsback as lead role, not to bad if you like serial killer stuff, and I do support Texas artists, but was not what I was lookiing for either, tonight Kelly's Hero's. a classic. Breath of fresh air.

Worst movie for the Hype? Brazil. WTF?
Worst Art movie (a tough category)? The Incredible Longness of Movie (err, The incredible Lightness of Being). I started watching it in 1989. Is it over yet?
Worst War movie? Anything with Ernest Borgnine or Dolph Lundgren or The Day After
Worst Horror movie? The Blair Witch Project, which I'm still convinced was the result of a studio head getting drunk and making a bet saying "I can turn my teenage daughter lose with a video camera, an ounce of weed and $500 and still make millions off the sheep". (good for him).
Worst Romance? Anything with J-Lo or Jennifer Anniston
Worst Comedy? A tough Category, and ultimately a tie. Four words, Jerry Lewis, Woody Allen. Insert your titles here.
Just flat worst movie that had potential (not counting sequels)? Road House or anything (with the exeption of No Way Out) starring Kevin Costner

Manos: The Hands of Fate

MST3K had a ball with this. As a matter of fact, that version is the only way you should watch it, and even then lock up all your firearms and give the ammo to a trusted neighbor with orders not to give it back until the movie is over no matter how much you beg.  Figured I'd google it to see what others thought, and they seem to agree. This from IMDb sums it up nicely:

Quote
After seeing this movie I ran through the house screaming at the top of my lungs for several hours pausing occasionally only to bang my head repeatedly on the floor. And that was the MST3K version!! Imagine seeing this movie pure and undiluted! It's too horrible to conceive!

Seriously, this movie is not only the worst movie I've ever seen; it's the worst movie I can imagine being made! How could any be worse! Could Ed Wood make such a movie? Arch Hall Sr.? Ray Dennis Steckler? Phil Tucker? I don't think so. None can approach Hal P. Warren, sometime fertilizer salesman and would-be auteur, for producing total cinematic crap!

Now excuse me, I must go wash up. Just thinking of this movie makes me feel filthy all over...

Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

Pincus went to see that new Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz flick, raved about the guns, including MarkyMark the Underwear Boy using a Taurus Judge in a small of the back holster. I seemed to be in a distinct minority that believed it was a complete waste of money to pay Hollyweird prices to watch Tommy and Cameron "act".

Cloverfield, and District 9. There is 4 hours I'll never get back.

District 9 was great...Cloverfield was awful.

But this is an inefficient way of determining bad movies.  Almost all movies suck, so we should just list the good ones.  Worst recent movie...Avatar.

I should have listed "Pulp Fiction"!

Richard

I watched that movie for the first time the other night. I've never seen such a screwed up movie. It ends where it starts........or starts where it ends. Travolta gets killed by Bruce Willis, then he's alive again, but it's at the end......... or rather the beginning........or somewhere in the middle. Totally stupid. It's as if the writers were in a contest with "Scarface" to see who could use the "F" word more.  Bill T.
