As a wine snob, I have enjoyed the three fingers region of NY wine, it's about as far from Bloomberg as you can get.

Chile, Argentina, Australia, far outweigh, europe. Their soil has been so over used, it renders their swill to expensive grape juice.

Aussie's hired away experts, and have produced fantastic wines,

Kalifornia, OK is a tough call. there are real farmers, real winemakers, real experts, and NAPA, Russian River, Paso Rolbles, Alexander Valley, Sonoma, are just far enough away from the Berkley crowd to know reality, from a business perspective.

Let Mexico have the Southern half.

Plus my Uncle owns and runs an oyster farm on Tomales Bay, just outside of NAPA.

Salud,....I'll have another Pinot Noir AMERICAN WINE!!!

NY wines seem to be OK.
France, Ca, NY, raises the question "aren't there any normal places producing wine ?"
We know the CIA tested LSD on the Bay area, and France has always been messed up, so they have an excuse.  But what happened to screw NY up so bad ?
Come to think of it I'm surprised Boston, Chitcago, and DC do not produce wines.   ;D

They produce whines.  Haven't you heard King Richard of Chicago and others whine about guns?

Alright,,,your old fashioned,.....we'll ride with that,...St. Francios Merlot, nothing has been as good as 94, 97,99, 01, but it's $12.00 and just fine with a great steak or pasta. Murphy-Goode, is another great Merlot. FROM AMERICA.

keep the alcohol content at 13.5% OR HIGHER,  sugar ferments better at that level...less headache,...better flavor.

At least its a red wine... ;D

I love this place! Where else can you post a joke about the high unemployment rate, and wind up having a conversation about wine, without some "moderator" getting a Woodie over it?   ;D   Bill T.

We do what we do best, don't we?  :)  ;D

And you're right, though....and that's why I stuck around after a visit or two. This forum actually runs like a normal conversation in a bar would go....rambling about, away and back to given topics.

Cool Place, eh?
