Hi all,
I had some time to kill today, so I swung by my local Border's bookstore.
I was mainly there to peruse the hobbyist machinist periodicals, but a copy of Harpers caught my eye. It had a drawing of a gun on the front cover.
Now, I have to admit that this was my first time cracking open a Harpers magazine. Consequently, I was left wondering what kind of political...errr...ideology biases that "rag" leaned to, and just what kind of slant they would put on an article about CCW'ing. All in all, I thought that the CCW article was balanced. And I did learn a thing or two...or three...some new vocabulary words I hadn't picked up while cramming for the GRE. (If I only had brought my internet enabled phone in with me so I could go to dictionary.com to ed-u-ma-cate myself on these new to me three syllable'ed words....SIGHHH!!! )
I found the article online, but of course you have to be a subscriber to the magazine to take a peek at it:
http://harpers.org/archive/2010/08/0083063Anywhooo...if you have some time to kill and a bookstore nearby, read the article and let me know what you think.
Or..heck, if you have had any past experience with Harpers, could ya kinda clue me in as to what their particular political proclivities tend to be?
I mean other than my mere observation that the writers there come across as intellectual "chest thumpers"... or chest puff-er out-ers.
Thanks!
Tyler
