I agree with the split feelings on this. These are our youth and our future, and I would want to teach them the ideals of respect. Boy Scouts, along with my parents, grandparents and uncles, is where I learned the importance and tough task of respect. However, this shows how far Pres. BHO has dropped from the public.
Not only has he lost the respect of much of the general public, but he has shown total disrespect for us. The idea that he would take the Presidency on the road of gossip shows is bad enough, but to snub groups of all kinds to do it is shameful. The Boy Scouts aren't the only or the last that he will do this to.
Back to the beginning of my post - Now parents and Scout Masters face the tough task of putting this event in perspective. They need to find a way to restore respect for the office in these young men, and they need to try and teach these hurt young men to think critically and not become future ranting fringe elements after being treated this way. A tough job, but the fact they are in Scouts shows they have what it takes if they all work together ... and the current "leaders" don't keep cutting the tracks in front of them.
