Back in the late '70s and early '80s I had occasion to make several trips to Beijing, China. This is the sort of thing I saw almost everywhere I looked--signs illustrating how well the ChiComs were running things, how their policies were good for the common folk, and how everybody was happy in the workers' paradise. They reinforced this by having loudspeakers blaring patriotic songs, encouraging political speeches, or blathering on about how happy everyone was to be in such a happy and productive country. While I don't think the majority of Chinese citizens actually believed this tripe, the constant impact of the same message over and over again induced a resigned hopelessness to the point that no one believed freedom or change was even a possibility. That didn't begin to change until the late '80s when TV was more widely available and really gained speed in the later '90s with the introduction of the Internet.
Yet, I fear that what we are seeing in our very own country is the introduction of these sorts of mind control techniques and many (a majority?) of the sheeple will simply accept greater governmental control and believe it is good for them. It is up to those of us who remain unwilling to lose those rights given us by God to make it our duty to inform the sheeple among us that rights do not come from government. Rights are not allowed by government. They are conferred upon us by our Creator. And my fellow patriots, we must continue to rage against the machine or we will lose the Great American Experiment. I've seen the signs.
