Back in the late '70s and early '80s I had occasion to make several trips to Beijing, China.  This is the sort of thing I saw almost everywhere I looked--signs illustrating how well the ChiComs were running things, how their policies were good for the common folk, and how everybody was happy in the workers' paradise.  They reinforced this by having loudspeakers blaring patriotic songs, encouraging political speeches, or blathering on about how happy everyone was to be in such a happy and productive country.  While I don't think the majority of Chinese citizens actually believed this tripe, the constant impact of the same message over and over again induced a resigned hopelessness to the point that no one believed freedom or change was even a possibility.  That didn't begin to change until the late '80s when TV was more widely available and really gained speed in the later '90s with the introduction of the Internet.

Yet, I fear that what we are seeing in our very own country is the introduction of these sorts of mind control techniques and many (a majority?) of the sheeple will simply accept greater governmental control and believe it is good for them.  It is up to those of us who remain unwilling to lose those rights given us by God to make it our duty to inform the sheeple among us that rights do not come from government.  Rights are not allowed by government.  They are conferred upon us by our Creator.  And my fellow patriots, we must continue to rage against the machine or we will lose the Great American Experiment.  I've seen the signs.
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

They "put America to work" locally by paving roads that didn't need it. They didn't touch the roads with bad potholes.

In a twisted sort of way that makes sense.

If they fixed roads that needed it, then that would be just one work load getting done.

Their way, they made work by fixing roads that did not need it, which did not take jobs or work from those who would be fixing the roads that do need it so there is work that will be done there too.

As another example.

If they were going to wash cars, they would only wash clean cars because if they washed dirty cars, then those who work at and own car washes would lose the business.  Makes perfect sense, but shows how friggin stupid the whole plan is.

It doesn't make sense because the money came out of other peoples pockets who could have spent it for something of real value, instead of wasting it.

So, had the government not taken the money in the first place, had the taxpayer still had it to spend, then the same number of people would have been put to work, BUT they would have produced something of real worth.

I passed one of these signs every day for about a year.  Every time I drove by it, regardless of the time of day, I saw ABSOLUTELY NOBODY working on the roadway.

Made me wanna run the f....k thing down with my car.  Maybe then I could give the body shop some work!

f..k You Mr. President!

This is really important, for the first time I am seeing folks with an "R" next to their name saying something is wrong and doing something about it.  The reputation as the party of "No" is not good, the party that points out wasteful spending and takes specific action against it can take seats away from those with "D" after their name.  Let BHO blame others for our problem, and let's all get behind people that are accountable and have a plan (even if it is only in R&D at this point.)
