Have you heard of Infragard ?
« on: February 14, 2008, 03:20:41 PM »
In George Bush’s mania to outdo George Orwell’s 1984, we bring you more than 23,000 members of private industry working quietly with the FBI and Department of Homeland Insecurity under the banner of InfraGard, i.e., the joint government/business program to guard (not rebuild) our infrastructure. Get it? Wanta forget it? Can’t. They’ll be climbing up your nose soon. Or shooting to kill in the case of Martial Law. Argh!
It’s eerily reminiscent of Orwell’s novel, in which the superstate Oceana’s three PARTY slogans are WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY and IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.” Yes, that George was a genius, the other a nebbish. In fact Wikipedia tells us, “Each of these is of course either contradictory or the opposite of what is normally believed, and in 1984, the world is in a state of constant war, no one is free, and everyone is ignorant.”

“The slogans are analysed in Goldstein's [a writer character’s] book. Though logically insensible, the slogans do embody the Party. If anybody (like Winston) becomes too smart, they are whisked away for fear of rebellion. Through their constant repetition, the terms become meaningless, and the slogans become axiomatic. This type of misuse of language, and the deliberate self-deception with which the citizens are encouraged to accept it, is called doublethink.” Say that again . . .

“One essential consequence of doublethink is that the Party can rewrite history with impunity, for "The Party is never wrong." The ultimate aim of the Party is, according to O'Brien, to gain and retain full power over all the people of Oceania; he sums this up with perhaps the most distressing prophecy of the entire novel: If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- forever.” Get your iron mask. I hear the boot stomp.

Ya know 2how, on any other forum than this, that writing would be accepted as humor or aimless rambling by a so-called seer or soothsayer. Folks don't accept that sort of stuff because it instills fear in them. They trust the government to protect them at all times while they are comfy in their homes. Boy have they got a rude awakening coming. Does the term "New World Order" mean anything to you? :o

Well as a member of the KY chapter I would say you don't have a frigigng clue what your talking about.

It is an FBI sponsor group of local , state and federal government officials, private sector and other interested folks who discuss response to and prevention of terrorist attacks. It's a good chance to meet your fellow LEO, firefighters, EMTs, public health, safety managers from around the state every few months to see what's going on.

No black helocopters, no ninja warriors, no secret handshakes.

Geez!

Yes, as a WA chapter member for a number of years now I agree with all you state.  The computer network world is especially involved due to the many chances of cyber attacks.  I'm one of the UNIX/Network people and I really enjoy the chances to meet and work with LEOs, Firefighers etc. I'm also a volunteer firefirghter and a number of our officers (paid, not vollies) are also members.

They may have zapped you on Infragard , but the rest of it is called "Political Correctness" and is ALREADY at schools, campuses, and media outlets near you.

Hey Ratcatcher55, No insult meant toward your organization in my statement. I humbly apologize if you took it that way. My words were directed against the Bush empire and the government in general and the lemmings that follow it blindly. I voted for Bush for President and I feel he let me down miserably.

Now, as for as the organization Infragard, I never heard of it. I'll look it up and check it out.

Cheers,
J.C.

I have seen the web site and talked to members, I know the mission. Just seems out of character for a group like this to be run out of local FBI offices and the need to be sponsored in . But the times are changing, like the (NAU) North American Union, and their police force with powers to roam Mexico, U.S. and Canada. Pictures and film of them at a anti Mexico rally in California, mingling with local LEOs Green uniforms and Globe arm patches, they are not security Guards. Who are they? You wont hear anything about them in the national media for sure, neither will you hear about the Global tax Obama is pushing. Alternate news sources are sometimes way left, but there is always some truth in every story. Any elitist organization makes you think.

Outlaw, No problem, no taken.

2HOW, There are no arm patches! No blue helmets or bennies! It has nothing to do with world domination, Jr Gmen, Elvis or UFO's
I must have missed the meeting about Global Taxes or maybe they had it when I was in the head.  I don't go to rallies or demonstrations for Infragard.  I have not become an informant for the FEEBEES.

There is a logo! You put it on letterhead. You put it on newletters.

There is a membership card! I also have one for the NRA, IDPA, my shooting range and a couple of other groups.

Really, this is just too silly!
