ratcatcher55, I  was using an analogy, it was 2 different points of view. If you reread my post you will see I transitioned from your group to another thought. To make a point that things are not always clear. I hope you understand what I meant.
AN ARMED SOCIETY IS A POLITE SOCIETY

Outlaw, No problem, no taken.

2HOW, There are no arm patches! No blue helmets or bennies! It has nothing to do with world domination, Jr Gmen, Elvis or UFO's
I must have missed the meeting about Global Taxes or maybe they had it when I was in the head.  I don't go to rallies or demonstrations for Infragard.  I have not become an informant for the FEEBEES.

There is a logo! You put it on letterhead. You put it on newletters.

There is a membership card! I also have one for the NRA, IDPA, my shooting range and a couple of other groups.

Really, this is just too silly!

Not silly at all ratcatcher, The  "World poverty tax" is a bill sponsored by Obama CURRENTLY being debated in the Senate Foriegn relations commitee. Some one posted a thread about it this AM.
A question for you, Do you "serve and protect" or enforce whatever law the socialists decide to pass ?

Tombogan03884,

Yes, silly question because none if it has anything to do with the people involved with Infragard.

Secondly for your rather insulting question, I’ll give my answer in more detail.

I believe all law enforcement should enforce the law. It’s up to the people, legislators and courts to make sure the law is based on the US Constitution. When law enforcement is arbitrary it leads to chaos and corruption.  I do not believe in surrendering one inch of ground to gangs and criminals. When law enforcement is based on politics you have officers breaking the law to confiscate legal weapons from citizens in New Orleans after Katrina or whole area exempt from patrol because somebody might be “frightened”.

I believe that judges and prosecutors should follow the rule of law based on the US Constitution, not laws from other countries, the UN or the old episodes of Star Trek.
Judges should not invent new crimes or offences, that is the job of the legislature with the people’s approval.

I believe it is the job of the jury to dispense justice! It is their duty in a free society and theirs alone. It can never be the job of the judge, or the prosecutor and certainly not the law enforcement officer.  I do not confuse justice and the law.

Is the system broken?  On some days it seems so but I think we have the best system possible.

I’m a CBRNE specialist. If I show up, you’re already in big trouble.

As for Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton, they are citizens by birth, internationalists by choice.

Ratcatcher, whether or not my question was insulting depends on how you answer this one, If you had been on duty in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina, when the Mayor gave the order that violated La. state law, to confiscate fire arms from LAW ABIDING citizens, would you have shown moral courage and refused, (even if just by avoiding the necesity) or would you have violated La. state law on the basis of "Orders are orders?
I'm a Marine, big trouble is just another day at the office.

Tombogan03884,

No I would not. It's not based on the law.
As a matter of fact none of the officers from IL disarmed anybody for the very same reason.

Would i you? If ordered by the President of US in time of massive civil disorder?

Excellent, It shows that even if your states politicians are notorious for their corruption and disregard for the rights of citizens, at least you and your fellow Officers have integrity. To bad officers from other jurisdictions that were on scene can not make the same claim.
According to statements recorded during research for the book "Great New Orleans gun grab" by Hutchins and Mason some officers "Improved their collections" the statement was made that "good ones (guns) went in the trunk Of the cruiser) junk ones went in the canals.

There was an British Major named Pitcairn thought that way as well. It wasn't as easy as he thought.
