$160! :o Call me an old fart, but, well, ITS A FREAKING FLASHLIGHT!!!!!!!
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. I've spent $6 to get a water proof diffuse beam LED by Dorcy that is great for boating and camp chores. I've got a gaggle of Mag Lights in various sizes, (from fit in your pocket, to probably illegal in Boston). I even sprung for a $60 Streamlite (I hate to admit it, but I will use the word "tactical") flashlight, at around 200 lumens. Still, $160? Is it just me, or does this seem absurd to anyone else?
FQ13 who can't quite fathom why you would spend that kind of money on something you could get for about $10-$50 at Gander Mountain, depending on whether you were going to use it as a backup weapon or not. :-\

Ok, you asked for it, you old fart!!   ;D

Seriously, though, I agree with you.  It's cool, but I can't justify the extra $100 over what I spent for the light I carry.  Admittedly I'm not only an old fart, but a cheap old fart, to boot.  But to me it's much like the choice I made for the 1911 I carry every day.  It's a Para-USA that I bought new for $599.  Sure, I coulda paid well over $1,000 for a 1911 from a different manufacturer, but would it make a bigger hole in a BG?  If I ever (God forbid) had to use it to defend myself would the BG be anymore dead?

Now that I think of it, this is probably the same reason I drive an F-150 instead of a Lincoln MK-1.   ;D

I read part opf the FAQs and it sounds pretty good. If you recharge it once a day it should last 135 years.

This reminds me of Hussein hiring 147 year old Andy Griffith to sell his dog and flea pony show of a "health care program". "There's lots more gooood things comin', like FREE checkups and all sorts of goooood stuff!" How he ever got laid by Helen Crump I'll never know???   Bill T.

I found the light while looking to replace my streamlight. the streamlight is rechargeable and has lasted for over eight years of daily use and abuse. loved that light. disappeared out of my luggage as I flew to Korea. retatrds didn't realize it was rechargeable and left the charger. anyway, I paid 89.00 for it and am looking for another like it. this light I would not buy because it is LED, useless for what I need as it reflects too much light back from all the piping and cables etc. I never replaced the batteries on the Streamlight Stinger and still had the original spare bulb. must buy more......
also, I'm sure that this technology will become more widespread and drive the price down with competing manufacturers.
well, gotta get back to work.

Oh yeah, Crusader, will be back around the 20th-ish. see ya soon

Admittedly, I have a flashlight fetish, I have a large collection, from Streamlight, Insight technology, surefire and no name, I have done a lot of LED conversions on these lights, and have some pretty strong opinions, I recently put a Terralux conversion with a Cree LED in my rechargable streamlight stinger xp, it is awesome, used to charge the light once a week, now every other week, and the light is white and bright, I use it everyday at work, in my left pocket I carry a surefire, L1 lumimax, has a 10 lumen and 60 lumen capability, 10 lumens you can read something in your car, like a map, and not get night blindness, hit the button harder and you can see across the street, it was a xmas gift, and the first set of cr123 batteries lasted a yr. I don't use it everyday, but carry it everyday. When I hunt, I always carry 2 lights, 1 to track game, and if I did not find it in 45 minutes, the 2nd, gets me back to square 1. Nothing worse than 45 minutes getting deep in the woods, and your light go's dim. I will be the 1st to admit modern well made good rep lights are too high, but sometimes you want the best, I am 1 of those.

I have been saying for yrs, some company is going to produce the 1st high quality LED for the home, if we can figure out who it will be, invest heavily, it is coming.

Another xmas gift was a surefire Echo knife, 300.00 bucks, I will never carry it or use it, my cold steels and spyderco knives will do fine, the friend who gave the surefire stuff, gets the stuff free for evaluation for magazine articles, the same as Michael does on a lot of items. Too bad they only gave him 1 of the 300 lumen weapon lights. But I think his best hookup, is Black Hills ammo, whenever he does an evaluation or article on a fire arm, he just calls, and they send him 1k rounds of whatever, of course Black hills is great stuff, and he never fails to mention that fact.
